Curriculum

We adapt White Rose Maths Schemes of Learning to form Long Term and Medium Plans. White Rose Maths is a carefully sequenced curriculum that builds on prior learning to inspire resilience, confidence and courage to take risks. Learning is broken down into small, connected steps building on student’s prior knowledge. This ensures that students will revisit learning in different contexts allowing them to become flexible and make connections. White Rose Maths has a clear focus on Fluency, Reasoning and Problem Solving. This is supported by conceptual and procedural variation supporting students to develop their reasoning skills and to help students link concrete ideas to abstract mathematical concepts. Additionally, we use CLIC (counting, learn it, it’s nothing new and calculations) to ensure we are revisiting basic skills.
