Our School

Equality and Diversity

Temple Learning Academy (37)

Our goal is to create and promote a culture where peoples differences are embraced, celebrated, and respected by all at the academy so we can ensure everyone is treated fairly in a safe environment regardless of their characteristics.

Student, staff, and parent voice will play a key role in what we plan and do so we can ensure we tackle the most relevant issues for the community we serve.

As a school, we recognise and work towards the three aims set out by the Public Sector Equality Duty:

  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct under the Act
  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
  • Foster good relations between people who have a shared characteristic and those who do not

We have set ourselves the following objectives for 2022 onwards:

  • Reduce the number of incidents involving the use of homophobic, sexist and racist language by our students.
  • Provide a school environment that welcomes and respects diversity.
  • To promote pupils understanding of identity, diversity, community and equality.
  • To ensure our students are best prepared and equipped for the next stages in life and learning.
  • Work towards closing the gaps in attainment and achievement between student groups.
