On 19th and 20th September, Temple Learning Academy welcomed Ofsted inspectors into school.

Whilst the findings of this visit are yet to be published, staff described the experience as very positive and praised the impeccable behaviour of pupils as they enthused to inspectors about their school.

This is the first inspection since April 2018 and in this time the framework and criteria by which schools are judged by Ofsted, and the size and scope of the school itself, have changed considerably.

Today Temple Learning Academy has five times as many more pupils than it did back then, testament to the growing recognition and reputation of the school in its community. With such significant growth comes added challenge - something the school recognises and has already been addressing as part of its overall improvement plan.

Temple Learning Academy is incredibly proud of the progress that continues to be made and is optimistic about the future of the school.

Principal for Temple Learning Academy, Stuart Huddleston, commented, “This recent inspection was an opportunity for all staff and students to show how strong the school is and showcase the significant improvements that have been achieved in so many areas of the school over the last couple of years. We are absolutely delighted with the sheer volume of positive feedback from parents and pupils that we received throughout the visit and at our recent Open Day.”

Mr Huddleston continues, “We have worked particularly hard to improve student attendance, attitudes and behaviour within school, particularly in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic, which adversely affected so many of our children. These positive attributes are the foundations on which successful learning thrives and we must be strong in these to enable us to progress in other areas.”

In a recent letter to parents, Mr Huddleston praised pupils, reporting that they, “conducted themselves, as they always do, superbly well throughout. Every single one of them demonstrated how proud they are of their school and continuously impressed the inspectors through their impeccable conduct, positive attitudes and respectful articulation of their experiences within school.” He went on the describe them as a credit to their parents and the school.

Mr Huddleston adds, “At Temple Learning Academy we are focused on developing well rounded characters with excellent social skills. We strive to provide outstanding learning opportunities and to ensure the best outcomes for the children in our care. We welcome the report from Ofsted and, whatever the outcome, will use the findings as an aid to further improve our school.”
