Dear Parents and Carers of pupils in Year 1 and Year 2,
We cannot believe we are already fast approaching summer term which is one of the busiest and most important terms in school.
This is especially true for pupils in Year and Year 2 who will be taking National Tests which are important as the performance of every child is monitored against all children in the country.
Children in Year 1 will complete their Phonics Screening Test
Children in Year 2 will complete their Key Stage 1 SATS Tests and (if necessary) retake the Phonics Screening Test from the previous year.
The tests do not worry us and hopefully will not worry the pupils. In fact last year most pupils completed without even realising they were doing it. We want to keep their stress levels down – AND YOURS – so were are putting lots of important work in to get rid of their nerves before then.
For pupils in Year 2, Miss Durn welcomes you into school on Wednesday 28th March at 3.30pm to look at the process and what the SATS actually mean for your child in the classroom.
Year 2 SATS will take place throughout the whole MONTH OF MAY – it is vital your child is in school, on time every day.
PHONICS TESTS will take place on the week beginning Mon 11th June – Friday 22nd June – it is vital your child is in school, on time every day.
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ANY HOLIDAYS OR TIME OFF DURING THESE DATES.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact your child’s class teacher.
