Dear Parents and Carers,
Today we have received advice from the Department for Education (DfE) regarding the Coronavirus. The overall risk of Coronavirus remains moderate. The purpose of this letter is to share the guidance that we have received with you which emphasises the importance of good hygiene.
Advice for parents and carers
The DfE has advised that you should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus and there is no reason why your children should not continue to attend school as normal.
The DfE recognise that some families or children may be planning to travel to China during the forthcoming half term period. If so, please refer to the FCO’s latest travel advice via the link below.
Public Health England and the Foreign Office have issued advice for anyone travelling or returning from the area. This can be found at:
What action we can take
A UK wide campaign has been launched to provide clear advice on how to slow the spread of Coronavirus.
Please help to support the campaign which promotes basic hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing into a tissue, to stem the spread of viruses. This important message will be given to students over the forthcoming days.
Latest information can also be found at:
We continue to monitor the wider situation and will keep you informed of any further guidance we receive.
