On Tuesday 28th June members of the DfE (Department for Education) visited Temple Learning Academy as part of their monitoring of new schools to ensure they are performing well.
They were very pleased with the outcomes the academy has achieved this year, observed teaching, looked at judgements the academy has made, standards and plans for next year.
Mr Kitching, the Chair of Governors, also spoke to the DfE advisor who left us with a glowing report and highly positive recommendations going on to ministers in London.
He was amazed to see how engaged with learning our pupils were and the high quality teaching in place. He said it was ‘a joy to be in lessons’.
Congratulations to the staff and pupils on such a positive monitoring visit. Congratulations also to the wider support we’ve received from parents, TNLP Trust partner schools and governors.
We celebrated our amazing dads at Temple Learning Academy by having them in school for our first ever Den Day. 30 parents joined our 55 pupils to design and build a range of dens in our outdoor learning area.
Levels of competition were high but our pupils and dads had a fantastic time. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Father’s Day than by having you in school and spending time with you.
We also managed to raise over £50 for Save The Children. Thank you all (especially dads) for your support!
